I guess the key to being a beast when it comes to Consortium is to be the person who starts the GMATClub thread. BML is on fire ;) If I get rejected I call threadmaster for next year!

Haas was my #1 and NYU was #2. But the most I can hope for from Haas is a waitlist at this point, and it's most likely a ding. So NYU will be first to offer me the money, if they want.

Finally all applications submitted. It amazes me how many hundreds of hours I have put in just to get to this point. I have a random question. I don't feel like peeling through the entire thread. Has anyone been accepted at any of the three California schools through the Consortium yet? Is this like a statewide thing in which they are hampered by Proposition 209? Is this why they all lack diversity? I don't like the feel of this whole thing with the Cali schools. I decided not to apply to UCLA as result.

Re: Calling All 2015 Consortium Applicants Thread [#permalink]
I had no idea African American enrollment at the UC's was so low...around 3.5%. It seems like Prop 209 would play a role, but maybe that is circumvented by the Consortium allowing membership for all who demonstrate support of the mission (as opposed to only those who identify as Hispanic, Native American or African American)? It would be interesting to hear an admissions perspective on this. I just submitted my app Monday so haven't heard anything back from CA schools.

Well Berkeley R1 decisions come out next Thursday for everyone (Consortium and regular students). USC I don't know anything about. But UCLA specifically pushes Consortium students out till March.

Prop 209 only affects public institutions so USC would be exempt from its provisions since it is a private school. However I am not a lawyer so that may not be accurate.

Since most R2 deadlines have passed, don't forget to update your school lists! Even if you're a lurker.

If you applied R1, I know it's not always fun to post your rejections and waitlists (trust me, I know), but please update your status too. It's a great resource for future administrations.

According to my sources, Haas for Consortium applicants really like the profiles of female african american military or engineers. U in at NYU though yay!

Hey 2 out of 3 aint bad, right?!?!?! I guess not good enough though. My goal is to get waitlisted, demand (ok, politely request) an interview, and show them how much more fantastic sales is than engineering

in sales, you cope with rejection all day. So it's actually a badge of honor to be rejected. Haas is missing out for sure BML05. After doing my research, I realized that I was not the target for the Berkeley Consortium student.

This was a reality check cos I really enjoyed the Bay and Eric Abrams the diversity guy was so chill. I'll never forget when he said that when he reads the app, he wants to see our personality get lifted from the pages so they can know the applicant better. This really helped me throughout the app process and the essay writing.

Thanks for the support! Hopefully I'll have some happy news to share on Thursday.

Any specific schools you are still waiting on?
Re: Calling All 2015 Consortium Applicants Thread [#permalink]
So only Yale & UNC have acknowledged my application. Has anyone gotten acknowledgement from the following schools

1. UCLA
2. NYU
3. Michigan
4. USC

Trying not to overthink. One of my recommenders submitted late so im hoping it didnt affect my app
