I get a sense that Darden may be a better fit for you based on your pros and cons. Since you are not dead set on tech I personally would go for fit and take the scholarship, which I think compensates for your recruiting travel expenses to the west coast. Just taking a quick look at the Darden employment report, 14% of students end up on the west coast and 16% work in tech so I think you would have a good chance of landing a role at a large tech company if that's what you really want to do. If you wanted to work at a start-up or smaller tech company then location would be more important. At UCLA a much larger percentage of students work in tech (28%) but that may be due to geographical location. If it's possible attend both admit weekends to get a sense whether most of the students that want to work in tech at Darden land roles in tech.
