Calling all ISB Applicants - (2016 Intake) Class of 2017

You can Consider IIM A's PGPX and IIM B's EPGP. Both are 1 year courses.

Hi guys. Really love the activity in this post. I would really appreciate you guys to help me with your expert views. I am going to break my query into three parts just for my better understanding. So here i am :

1) I am not from an engineering background. Rather I am a Bachelors in Commerce and after that I did my CA ( Chartered Accountancy) and CMA ( Cost Accountancy ). Both are hardcore Finance and Accounting degrees. So I am a bit confused as to how do I convert my marks into GPA ?

2) I got a 690 on my GMAT. And this was after 3 attempts. It started with 650, then 640 and finally 690. I am satisfied with the score even though I admit that the magical 700 figure would have been great. But I think I have a strong case if my overall academics are considered. Plus I keep on hearing from all the adcoms that GMAT is just one aspect that is weighed. So, do let me know whether I should show the audacity to go ahead and apply with this score.

3) Can anyone please provide me a walk through of the entire admissions process ? I mean I gave my GMAT, now what ? I have a lot of time so please do not skip out on any details.

Fill each segment of the online application form based on the guidelines below. Applicant Information: This segment mainly captures the mandatory personal, professional and contact information. Ensure that your name on the application form is as it is in your passport as your PGP certificate will be issued on that name. Test Scores: You are required to submit your GMAT scores along with the application within the respective application deadline. You can also submit your application with the unofficial score report. Consequently, you can take the GMAT even on the day of the deadline and submit your application with the test center score report. However, you must ensure that your official score report reaches the School within two weeks of the application deadline. Note that incorrect scores in the application may lead to disqualification. If the medium of instruction during your under graduation was not English, you will also have to submit scores for a language proficiency test (TOEFL / IELTS). Education Details: Details about your class X and XII, along with either one of your under-graduate, integrated programme or professional education scores have to be filled in here. If you have additional educational qualifications, you can mention them using the Additional Education form. Awards and Activities: As the admission process is holistic, use this section to showcase your achievements in extra-curricular activities. Start from the most recent and mention the important activities in a descending order of participation. Essays: An important part of the application process, are the essays. This year, the application form consists of three compulsory and one optional essay for the first time applicants. If you are a re-applicant, Essay 4 on how you’ve developed since your last application is compulsory. For in-depth analysis of the essay topics, click here. Evaluation: One evaluation from a professional contact, preferably a current supervisor has to be made available as part of the application. Official e-mail id of your evaluator is preferred mode for getting the evaluation. In case your evaluator is unable to provide an official e-mail id, you can opt for an offline evaluation in which your evaluator will have to fill the evaluation form, print it, sign it and then upload a scanned copy through the link provided in the e-mail. Ensure that you click on “Send request to ISB” after filling your evaluator details in the application form. Your filled in evaluation should be received directly from your evaluator by the school before the respective cycle application deadline. Scholarship Application: All applicants will automatically be considered for the available merit-linked tuition waivers. There is no separate application for the merit linked waivers. Fill this section only if you are applying for an ISB need-based waiver, the diversity waiver, the ISB-AIESEC waiver and the Bridge to India scholarship. If you are applying for a need-based scholarship, it is necessary that you submit a proof of income for yourself and the other earning members of the family. Upload Documents: All official documents including recent passport size photograph, valid passport, transcripts / mark sheets for all exams of the qualifying exam and others have to be scanned and submitted in PDF format. Proof of income is mandatory for applicants. Proof of income for family members is required only if applying for a need based waiver. After living in Canada for thirteen years, I invariably chose Asia for my management studies. Asia is poised for growth in the coming decades. From doctors to artists, we’ve got them all in our classroom. The kind of experience and learning you get from your peers in one year is unmatched. It’s been 5 months now that I’ve been serving as the President of the Graduate Student Board at ISB and I can approve that the culture, is indeed, student driven. Another advantage that ISB provides you is the cream of the crop faculty from various globally renowned B-schools. Getting to learn from Professors at Wharton, Kellogg, London Business School, and Stanford along with the incredible residential faculty makes a difference in terms of your thinking, learning, and overall growth. This was a huge consideration for me as there aren’t many schools that can boast of a faculty model as unique as this. Among other things that delighted me, was the kind of care the school takes of you. Coming from Canada, I did have my doubts about the campus facilities and hygiene. ISB did not fail to pleasantly surprise me with its world class campuses. Another important thing is what you take away with you after you graduate from the school. I, for one, know that I have a portal to the thousands of alumni spread across the world. The opportunities and knowledge that you gain being in close association with the school are endless. Today, I am proud to be a part of the ISB PGP class of 2016. I strongly believe that my decision of choosing ISB over other B-schools is working in my best interest, and will continue to do so in the coming years.

Since ISB doesn't ask for resume, so I had one query while filling the employment details section:
I have worked with a company in 3 different locations including 2 international , and for 2 different designations in India , so should I mention each of these separately or are we expected to club all these (which would be really difficult , considering the 100 character limit for job responsibilities)
Basically I should fill in the details just like I do on my Resume right? 4 different positions and responsibilities and achievements in each mentioned separately...right? Please correct me if I am wrong. I did take up a conference call with ISB adcom, but they asked me to mention the current position in this company only, hence I am confused

I just submitted my application. The website states that - Further update on short-listing will be available approximately 5 to 7 days before your interview, if shortlisted, for the interview location you have chosen.
How long does it take for adcom to review the app?

Hey Don't worry about this part. ISB carefully analyze all applications so it takes time. You will know as soon as adcom review your application.

I suggest you mention only last position of your job and write about multiple roles and location in Optional essay.

Can some one help me, what is the Eligibility criteria for "Need based Tution fee Waiver"??
Its given The income including applicants should be less than 10L...

Applicants income means, what i am earning now or what i will be earning after resigning from job? (like from House Property or dividends)

Income means what you've (including spouse and parents) filed returns for now. Not after when you've resigned.

BTW, kudos if you'll still be over 10 lpa while not employed!!!

P.S. Always call the admission office if you're in doubt about any technical question.

In the employment details section of the application, it says "Please enter in a chronological order (starting from the current / last job) detail of each full-time employment you have held post your undergraduate studies." Does this mean we don't include internships? Because when you enter details of each job, they do ask if the experience was full time / part time etc.

Also, I work as a management consultant, which means my job responsibilities are not very specific, and I usually mention project details on my resume. Given that ISB does not ask for a resume, I am not sure what I should be putting in this part of the application.

Anyone else facing a similar issue?

im an international applicant(Nepali) currently working as a software developer in Canada at Amazon. I studied in Germany worked for 4 years there and then moved to Canada. My GMAT score is 700. Would appreciate if could get feedback on my chances at ISB.
