Did anyone recieve any update??

It's a little after 2pm CET and I haven't heard anything. I had my second interview on 9/18 and I believe both of my interviewers submitted their report before the deadline. Hoping to hear something within the next few hours.

Edit: About an hour after posting that I got my acceptance email. Just booked my flight to Paris next week for the HEC open day. Hopefully after visiting the school and attending some classes (and hearing back about merit scholarships) I'll have a better idea of whether I truly want to attend. The deposit deadline seems pretty early and is before I'll hear back from a lot of schools so I want to make sure I really do my research on HEC.

I am planning to apply for Sept 2016 intake by April next year. Hence I was naturally concerned about the scholarship deadlines and whether all the scholarships might already be taken by then. When I raised this query with the admissions team, I received the reply "There is a scholarship jury for each application deadline so there is no need to worry about them having already been allocated". Could anyone please explain what this means. Does it imply that for every round there will be a scholarship whatever be the level of candidates applying in that round?

I just got back from Paris after attending HEC's open day. The school seemed ok but there were a few aspects of the school I didn't particularly like so I'm ultimately going to withdraw my application.

To all those applying to HEC and American schools: bear in mind that HEC gives you about 3 weeks after their admission decision to accept your spot and pay your deposit (which is a hefty 8k Euros). So basically I could either pay my deposit and withdraw all my other apps before even receiving interview invites or withdraw before hearing back from anywhere else. I suppose I could also pay my deposit and continue pursuing those other schools but in addition to being bad form it's also a really expensive strategy.

Happy to answer any questions anyone might have about the school via PM.

Scholarship decision deadlines depend on the type of scholarship that you have applied for. The details are available here.

If you are talking about the 'HEC Paris MBA Scholarship for Excellence', the decision is made by the Scholarship Jury once every month. As far as the level of candidates is concerned, that is of course taken into consideration by the jury.

P.S.: Please don't send messages asking me to evaluate your "chances" of getting an admission call. I hope you understand that profile is just a part of the entire package. The rest depends on your essays, interview, etc etc. Apart from that, HEC does the profile evaluation for free anyways. So just go to the HEC website and do it if you wish to know more about your "chances".

Thanks zat! Got dinged by HEC last year. So I took the GMAT again and improved my score. I found out that there were some fundamental flaws with my application last year, so I have started afresh this year. Feels good to be back in the race. Surely looking forward to share my experience. Hope I get an interview call this year. Fingers crossed!

I recently got admitted to HEC Paris and am quite excited to attend the school next year.

A brief about my profile: Indian, 720 GMAT and working in renewable energy finance.

My interview experience was great and very informative. The best part about HEC interview is that it is more of a discussion. The school organizes two interviews and they try to make sure that at least one of them is face to face. This is a great opportunity, especially for international applicants, to meet with alumni and learn more about the school.

So, the first tip is obviously the one you must have got bored of hearing……”Don’t Fake your way in”……..you would be cheating yourself. MBA requires huge investment and you can make more
out of it if the program is a good fit for you.

Honestly, I had researched about the school through their website and got to speak with some current students before my interview. Apart from the MBA program, if you are interested in the French culture it is even better for you. Also, if you are interested to learn “French”, then lot many doors can open for you.

Coming back to the main topic. During the interview stay calm, patient and don’t get nervous as this is not the end.

1. Some of the key questions from my Skype Interview:
a. Walk me through your resume?
b. Why HEC MBA?.......You need to research the program well and show concrete reasons and not generic ones.
c. Why Europe?
d. Post-MBA goals
e. Any question for the interviewer?....This is a really important one, please don’t ask any information which is already on the website.

2. Some of the key questions from face to face interview:
a. Had a long discussion on renewable energy in India
b. Walk me through your profile?
c. What about international exposures and leadership opportunities?
d. Why HEC? What do you bring to HEC?
e. Have you evaluated career prospects? What are your career goals and what is you plan to reach those goals and how HEC can help?
f. The interviewer gave me tips on what to do if I get selected and told about his experience in HEC and also France.
