Did an off-campus interview with a local alum. Was his first time conducting an interview, turns out I'd done more interviews than him
He worked off a script, pretty much all regular questions:
-Both of us went to the same undergrad, so I used that as a segway into the 'tell me about yourself'
-short term/long term goals
-why mba, why now
-why mccombs
-where else have you applied
-tell me about a project where you made a significant difference and what did you learn
-tell me about a time you had to lead a team and faced difficulties. how did you overcome them
-describe some recent feedback you received from a supervisor and what you did about it
-what would you like the adcom to know that isn't on the application and interview so far
after that, he asked if I had questions for him. I thought it was going to be a 30 minute interview, turned out to be a full hour so the Q&A session became more a conversation about MBA/career/jobs in general. Helped that his career trajectory and my goals were pretty much identical. He was very frank and open, and really bumped up my perception of Mccombs.
