Does anyone know if UT Austin does visiting scholarships for interviews? I want to do an interview onsite but don't have the free dough to do it.

Just finished my skype interview with Micheal Norton, 2nd year student.

The best interview for me so far and I have given quite a few of them :-D

Started off with a conversation about shared travel interest and from there it flowed on to the standard,
ST/LT Goals, Why MBA, Why McCombs, Leadership Crisis/Challenging Situation, Any constructive criticism received and my response to that and finally some Q&A.

Very relaxed, no curve balls, a few cross questions based on my answers and it was done.

My interviewer was a former teacher and that probably helped making the conversation smooth and easy going.

Now the Game of Wait Begins. One and half month and counting !!

Hi Indian applicants,

I am wondering whether anyone booked his/her slot in Interview hubs (December) in Mumbai or Delhi. Since the day I received my invitation, the pages shows that slots are not available.

Are the slots completly booked or are they not open yet.

Thanks in advance.

Did an off-campus interview with a local alum. Was his first time conducting an interview, turns out I'd done more interviews than him :P

He worked off a script, pretty much all regular questions:
-Both of us went to the same undergrad, so I used that as a segway into the 'tell me about yourself'
-short term/long term goals
-why mba, why now
-why mccombs
-where else have you applied
-tell me about a project where you made a significant difference and what did you learn
-tell me about a time you had to lead a team and faced difficulties. how did you overcome them
-describe some recent feedback you received from a supervisor and what you did about it
-what would you like the adcom to know that isn't on the application and interview so far

after that, he asked if I had questions for him. I thought it was going to be a 30 minute interview, turned out to be a full hour so the Q&A session became more a conversation about MBA/career/jobs in general. Helped that his career trajectory and my goals were pretty much identical. He was very frank and open, and really bumped up my perception of Mccombs.

My local alumni (in Mumbai) is not responding so I'll have to go for the Skype option. Also has anyone been able to schedule a hub interview in Mumbai? Surprisingly, the slots became unavailable very soon.

Hey guys, had mi interview last night off campus w/ an alumni in ATL, GA

Very relaxed an almost informal setting. He was following a question pack he had, which included all the standard questions:

- why an MBA
- why McCombs
- where else have you applied
- short/long term goals
- tell me about a time you had to resolve a conflict
- why would you do if you dont get into any MBA program you applied

those are the ones i remembered. Certainly more of a conversation. Good luck to all of you, December cant get here fast enough

Hi,

My interview was yesterday.
In campus with 2nd year student.
Pretty casual talk. I think that being interviewed by a student is awesome because he was once in my position (not a long time ago). Thus, he knew how nervous I was. The fact that he talked a lot about his experience at the beginning helped me to relax.
No tricky questions:
Walk through resume
Goals (long and short term)
Share an experience that you had to motivate people
How would you describe yourself?
How do you plan to be successful in a collaborative environment (such as McCombs')?
An important feedback you've received
Why McCombs?
Those are the ones I remember.
I really appreciated my interview. Don't know how I could have done better.
The guy did a good job on establishing a relaxed talk.

Hope it helps. Good luck to all!

Thanks for this! very nice of you , congrats! and best of luck!
