what aspect of your profile do you think got you the scholarship?.. We are given the impression that india IT male is not the most sought after profile but you seem to have turned that around on its head so I'm curious. thanks - feel free to pm if you prefer.

Just 7 days to go. KF is pretty much my first choice schools so I just cant handle the nerves. Waiting for Feb 1 to put me out of my misery!

Hahaha ... I am not sure how was I able to turn it around, but I think it was a combination of factors instead of one. Below is a list of factors that I feel played a part.

1. Goal - I was pretty clear about my goal and articulated it well in the interview and essays
2. Working towards Goal- I have been working towards my goal through my work, extra curricular and start up too. So everything was coherent.
3. GMAT score- This I feel is again a very important factor especially for Indians. It also helped me overcome my below average GPA (72/100)
4. Connection with the school - The fit and what would you do inside the school. What courses, what clubs etc.
5. Interview - Reinforce what you have written in the essays and be prepared with 5 6 stories. Present yourself a a person, not as an engineer (If you are one) Tell them your passion and likes in life. Do not just stick to work.

However, I am not sure if this is the right recipe. I was rejected by some schools without an interview too

I see 10 R3 applicants have got the interview invite. Can you guys please comment composition of first set of interview invites please, i.e. on-campus/skype/alumni. I too applied in R3 but no communication till now. Starting to worry a little bit.

Yes, I received the call on Saturday night IST and results were declared on Monday night IST.

May be rolling of some sort instead of waves. I got an invite this morning at 10AM EST. Have not tried to schedule yet.

Just had interview with ad committee member Julie. Talked mostly about my personal experience, professional career and goals short term and long term. Usual question Why MBA, Why KF UNC. Overall talked for about 40 min.

Anticipation building. UNC is the dream after visiting campus. I interviewed both at Duke and UNC and the vibe at UNC was more of what I am looking for in an MBA. Hope to get some good news here soon. Will commit same day lol

Today I got an "application complete and sent to review" mail from UNC. I did not see anyone receiving this mail. Could anyone please confirm if they have received the same and if yes, then what are the timelines after which you got the interview invite post this mail.

I had the same exact feeling. I had unscheduled visits with Duke/UNC in the same day. UNC seemed much more welcoming and the staff was much more open to speaking with me (they said 10 min, we were there for an hour). Building and campus was much nicer at UNC. I always thought I'd automatically pick Duke over UNC but may not be the case.

Also, I did receive an 'application complete' email today, even though I got an interview invite on Monday. Not sure what the 'app complete' email indicates.
