Calling MIT MFin Class of 2017 (2016 intake)

Yeah, I'm wondering if they have even begun sending out these invites yet. This is because both last year and the preceding year MIT posted an update on its admissions blog (I can't seem to post the links here), but there is no such update on the blog this year yet.

Applying from the states here (Texas)! Haven't received an invite either... I wrote an email to the admissions office and got a reply: "We will be sending out interview invites during the month of Feb. on a rolling basis depending on where you live."

Just read a thread on Quantnet... Seems US invites haven't been sent out yet... I'm applying from Georgia; big fan of Texas!

What about India? Have they begun sending out invites for India yet? Could you please share the link to that Quantnet thread you mentioned? Thanks.

I think interviews have started in Asia and are coming West...

Also, I read on the MIT MFin admissions blog that we would all get interview invite or ding by the 12th.

Any invites for Indian applicants? I heard that they sent out mailers that interview calls will be given by the 12th Feb. I haven't received it though!

I don't think they sent an email stating this, however they dis say in thier blog that by the 12th they will notify us whether we will be invited for an interview or not. I'm from the middle east and still didn't recieve any news.

I haven't seen people from DC, Michigan/Chicago, Georgia or Texas area that receive interview invites on online forums! Plenty of students from Singapore and China have received interview invites though, so the admissions office may still in Asia!

Hi everyone,

Recently admitted student here. Want to provide a description of my experience for future applicants.

1. Late January, was emailed to schedule an interview (apparently these invites went out from end of January through end of February)
2. Arrived on-campus the following week, had a quick lunch with current students (8 prospective students and 3 actual students, so not much opportunity to screw up here)
3. Interview was quick (30 minutes) but effective. The interviewer had clearly read through my application materials in-depth. Questions were purely behavioral - we actually didn't discuss much finance.
4. The day before the deadline, admissions called to give the good news.
