I think you misunderstood something or meant something else - one cannot skip an answer in GMAT. Did you mean guess and move to the next question?
Nope
It said very clearly to Guess on the math - but if you really dont known the answer on verbal you can skip and it wont be counted against you ... I was shocked at that statement, that is why I am trying to get some clarification.
No, one cannot skip a question. The timing strategy I used was as follows:
I distributed the 75 minutes / 41 questions in 4 approximately equal blocks - my aim was to complete 10 questions in each block of 18 minutes, i.e. complete 10 questions in the first 18 minutes, 20 questions in the first 36 minutes, 30 questions in the first 54 minutes, and 41 questions in 75 minutes. Towards the end of each block if I found that I was tight on time, I would guess 1 or 2 questions to match the minutes / number of questions combination as planned. This strategy helped me release stress at the end of each block of 18 minutes. It almost felt as though I took 4 short verbal tests, and this strategy helped me maintain my compose through out the test.
