Dear admission expert
I am a business leader (regional director) running east coast for my company ( a 2 billion USD technology conglomerate) responsible for sales, delivery , customer success and growth of the region. I have 11+ years of experience in the information technology industry and spent more than 5 years in developing new markets, running P&L for sizeable portfolios (50 million +), clients relationship management , managing large operations etc. prior to that I use to manage programs, run quality assurance group and did some technical work. I have developed a broad repertoire from working for mammoth organization (10 billion +) to startup like environments and variety of business cultures by working with and managing workforce from US, Canada, India, South Africa, Phillipines and Vietnam. I am currently working for a Vietnamese company who is trying to expand business in US
I have experience of building business from ground-up , defining and executing business development & marketing strategies, structuring and executing strategic deals, building high performance teams , running service delivery organizations (1800+ people) , building and managing CxO relationships and building technology solutions for business challenges.
I have very interesting experiences and stories to share with my classmates ranging from building a new market with zero client base to 10+ fortune 500 clients in a 6 months period, leading a CEO's experiment by creating a strategic deals group in a company that has limited itself to smaller deals and thus the mindset , leading an anti-corruption campaign to curb corruption that impacts poor people's daily life in India etc.
My urge to venture into a MBA journey and the timing is primarily because of the digital disruption of businesses and the need of the 'business technologist' executives to lead and sustain businesses. I believe that I need to expand my perception, approach to solving problems and the network & support system and only an executive MBA or 1 yr program like SLOAN will help me achieve this. In addition my career being at a juncture of middle to sr. management , I will not be able to afford a 2 year break and I think I will not be a great fit into a regular MBA class
I have an engineering degree and have completed multiple leadership training programs through my employers
Given my background and my expectation out of my MBA program, I am thinking of limiting myself to program like Sloan Fellow or 1 Yr full time executive MBA within US
I don't have a GMAT at this point and is looking for program that won't require GMAT. if the choices are limited thenI have to invest in GMAT training. In addition with my schedule I certainly need help from experts to do justice to my application. This warrants for atleast a 10K investment
Could you please advise on my thinking of limiting myself to selective program and what chance do I stand in getting an admission into these programs.
Is it a gamble given such an investment into the process or is it a reasonable risk?
looking forward for your thoughts
