GMAT: Currently getting 550 on practice tests, shooting for 700+. Planning to take my first GMAT ard Dec'16.

WE: 2 Yrs Police Force, 8mths SW Development at a Automotive Electronics company, 6mths Accounts Asst at a Canadian Company.
I am completing my Bachelors of Eng (EEE) in 2018 from NTU Singapore.

Undergrad:
Student Exchange at Georgia Tech for 6mths.
Member of some student clubs.

MBA Plans:
Trying to get into a top University in USA after my undergrad.

Do I lack work experience or leadership skills? Can i make up for it with a higher GMAT score?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Hi Manick9

The diversity of your background and work experience will work in your favor. However, your young age and lesser than average might be a challenge.

I suggest you emphatically highlight the strengths of your experience and perspectives in your essays. Although a higher GMAT cannot compensate for lack of leadership experience, a higher than average score helps you stands out and will help your application.

Also, be strategic about your school choices if you are applying to the US.

Seeking admission in Jan 2018/Sep 2018 batch insead or 2018 admission in NUS(work ex will be ~5.5 years at time of application)

GMAT - 700 (Q 50, V 32)

Work-Ex - ~4.5 Years (as of now) in Strategy consulting
- 2.5 years Business Analyst India
- 4 months Associate Consultant India
- 1.5 years Associate Consultant/Client Lead @ Belgium, responsible for BeNeLux region
- Worked across multiple geographies including Belgium, Netherlands, UK, France, Germany

GPA - 3.12

Under graduation - Bachelors in Ceramic Engineering from top 10 engineering colleges in India

Nationality - Indian

It will be interesting to understand what other colleges can I target.
