Numerator
75*0.08=6--->Jasmine water
6+3=9--->New content of Jasmine water in new solution

Ratio

I love tabular approach , here is my take on the problem...

So percent of the solution is jasmine = \(\frac{9}{90}\) x \(100\)=> 10%

Hence answer will be (C)

let x=% of jasmine in new solution
.08*75+3=x(75+3+12)
x=1/10=10%

I believe that the Question wording is off a bit. Instead of reading 'A 75-liter solution of cool-drink is made from 8% jasmine water' I believe it should read 'A 75-liter solution of cool-drink is made from 8% jasmine and rest water'....

I guess it's jasmine water + only water

8% jasmine water = 6 litres

now,
3 litres jasmine water and 12 litres of water is added
total jasmine water = 6+3=9 litres
total water = 90 litres
% of jasmine water in the solution = (9/90)*100=10%

75 lit - 8% of jasmine and 3 liters of jasmine contains 100 % of jasmine. Why do we need to account for 12 liters of water ?

i solved using this, 100-x/x-8 = 75/3

I got 11.5 . can you please explain what is wrong in approach

We are given that a 75-liter solution is made from 8% jasmine water. Thus, the solution contains 75 x 0.08 = 6 liters of jasmine.

When 3 liters of jasmine and 12 liters of water are added to the solution, the percentage of solution that is jasmine is:

(6 + 3)/(75 + 3 + 12) = 9/90 = 1/10 = 10%

Answer: C

in 75 ltr volume of jasmine = 8/100 x 75 = 6ltr.
water = 75 - 6 = 69 ltr
adding 3 liters of jasmine and 12 liters of water .
total jasmine = 6 +3 = 9
total water = 69 + 15 = 84
total solution is 9 +84 = 93
% jasmine = (9/93) x 100 = 9.6% around 10%

Step 1:
Quantity of new solution=75+3+12=90
Previously Jasmine in Solution=0.8*7.5=6 litre
Now Jasmine=9
total solution=90
x=9/90*100
10%
C is option

A 75-liter solution of cool-drink is made from 8% jasmine water.
8% of 75 = (8/100)(75) = 6
So, the 75 liters is comprises of 6 liters of jasmine

If 3 liters of jasmine and 12 liters of water were added to the solution....
We're adding 15 liters, so the NEW volume = 75 + 15 = 90 liters
The total volume of jasmine in the NEW mixture = 6 + 3 = 9

.. what percent of the solution is jasmine?....
9/90 = 1/10 = 10%

Answer: C

(% A)(Vol A)+(% B)(Vol B)=(x/100)(A+B)

A = original drink, volume = 75L
A = 8% jasmine = .08

B: 3L jasmine + 12L water= 15L total volume
B's percent jasmine:
\((\frac{3L}{15L}*100)=(.2*100)=20\) percent

B is poured into A.

Percent, \(\frac{x}{100}\), of new solution that is jasmine:

\(.08(75) + .20(15) = \frac{x}{100}(75+15)\)
\(6 + 3 = \frac{x}{100}*90\)
F\(9*100=x*90\)
\(x=\frac{900}{90}=10\) percent*

Answer C
*"percent" is already accounted for in \(\frac{x}{100}\)
