Hi Swarnendu,

I don't see why you don't stand a chance. However as a reapplicant your onus to prove yourself to the adcom increases a few notches. What have you done to make your profile better since last year on : academic front (GMAT), professional (promotion, achievements, increased work responsibility), personal (self improvement); community involvement?

Also the rest of the essays and the application needs to be answered really well. Last year, your application naturally lacked on some parameters, so this year you should take extra care to address those.

For those keen to connect to current class students at ISB, the School has a new "Brand Ambassadors" page at https://www.isb.edu/pgp/student-connect
You can filter for your specific function and experience range and connect with one of the Ambassadors, who would be more than happy to guide you.
Please note that they may not be in a position, however, to assist with prep, resume/ essay review etc, due to the hectic schedule they grapple with at ISB!
Just a heads up to all those looking to crack ISB!
Good luck!

Hi,

I was finally able to create an account on GMATclub after trying and giving up for several months! During which I prepared and appeared for GMAT. I'm done with my GMAT (for now) and it would be great if you can access my profile -

GMAT - 700 (Q:49 V:36 AWA:4 IR:6)

10th - 84.33%

12th - 77.33%

B.E. (MIT Manipal) - 7.2 (Information Technology)

Work Experience - Total (>4 years) Worked as Associate Applications Engineer at Oracle India Pvt. Ltd. for 1.5 years (also interned here for 6 months). Currently working as Associate Consultant at ZS Associates (>2.5 years) with 2 teams

I was associated with an NGO for some time. Also, I was the board member of Music and Fine Arts club in the college.

Is it good profile for ISB Hyderabad. Is this GMAT score good enough? Or should I retake? I think I can get 720 - 730 with a little more preparation.

Also, I'm lost about where to start with my essays. I don't think I have a lot in my profile where I can really stand out, and I'm considering taking help from a consultancy. Any suggestions ?

Thanks! :)

Hi

I think your profile stands a chance given the right strategy and brainstorming required for constructing a good application.

700 is a great score and in my opinion a 720 or 730 won't make much of a difference. Instead if you utilize your time crafting the best possible essays, it'd certainly be more beneficial.

For a better evaluation of your profile it'd be great of you could mention your short term and long term goals or just fill out this form at https://thebootcamp.biz/free-profile-evaluation/

The Bootcamp is a consultancy by ISB admits and alums and we have helped numerous applicants with their essays, also our pricing is the most competitive for the comprehensive services and personal attention we provide.

It's great to have people who have already been through the process and succeded guide you. You can view our various services at https://thebootcamp.biz

Hi Stuti,

A score of 610 is too less. You should try to get atleast 660+

Hi

- While your GMAT score is in the acceptable range, and so are your work ex and academics, more information is needed on your experience and your key responsibilities at work.
- Please also provide more information on ECA

Hi Stuti

- Your GMAT score is a bit too low. Please try and increase it to at least 650, if not more. If that means pushing your application to R2, pl do so.
- Your background differentiates you, and if you can get a higher score and build a strong application, you should have a good chance at ISB.

Hi Gooberboy

While the profile by itself is decent, the GMAT score is quite low. You will need to increase this by around a 100 points to really start having a chance.

Hi Goonerboy

As Gyanone said you need to bump up your score by 100 points at least. Your name suggests that you are an Arsenal fan and we gooners above all know what it takes to experience success after long time

Hey community :-D

I would be grateful if someone could evaluate my profile. I am a pretty down-to-earth person but I am curious what my chances for a Top MBA are.
I am going to apply in August 2017.

Here is my profile:

Nationality: Italian
Age: 23 (when the program starts I will be 25)
WE: 2 years (by the time the program starts) (insurance and consulting)
GPA: 3,6 (from a well known European university)
Toefl: 111
GMAT: 720
Leadership skills: During the age of 16 to 21 I kind of used to run my own business in the summer months. My parents own a hotel but they retired already, so I was in charge in running the business. I would say that I had a huge responsability because everything depended on me (7-8 employees). I don't know if I should mention this in my application.

Furthermore, I volonteered many years and I was on exchange on a well known American university for six months.

Dream Schools: HBS, Sloan, Yale, Booth, McCombs

I think the problem will be my WE. Anyway, thanks in advance. :o

Hi,

Please evaluate my profile for ISB.I am planning to apply for 2017 - 2018 session.

Mining Engineer from NITK Surathkal.

Founder of a start up backed by some high profile investors.Recognised by NASSCOM as a high potential start up in 2015.Start up is currently not in great shape because of prevailing market situation.Looking for a buyer but in worst case might need to shut it down.

Previous work ex :

Worked as retail consultant for 2 years ( Promoted once )

Worked as regional sales head for 15 months before perusing my start up full time.

Academics :

GMAT - 700 - Q 49, V 37 ( Does it make sense for me to retake it.I think I can increase my score by 20-30 points but not more )

CGPA - 7.45
12th - 73
10th - 70 ( I think these 3 are my weak points. How much do you think this will affect my chances and is there anything I can do to counter it )

Extracurricular :

State level Tennis player

Secretary of the cultural fest of my collage ( It is one of the biggest college fests in the country )

I was Rotaract coordinator for 3 yrs.Was responsible for organising activities like orphanage visits, old age home visits, blood donation camps, campus cleaning activities, Weekend teaching classes for underprivileged students etc.

Future goals : I am an out an out start up guy and would like to remain associated with start ups after my MBA.Would either like to do another start up or work for some VC firm.

Please let me know in case I can add anything for better evaluation.

Many Thanks.
