Hey guys, one question for you:
I´ve read in many websites that the chances of receiving an offer after you get an invite to interview is roughly 55-60% (Is this really correct?). Do you think that all the candidates that were invited to interview have the same odds of getting in or even if you do poorly on the interview day they´ll still look into the whole application before making a decision?
Thanks for your input! I was really surprised after I received the invitation to interview and I'd like to know what my chances are...
From all I know - yes, the interview matters. But it is not THE decisive factor. It is one additional data point. Your application will be evaluated holistically. That is why they take almost another three weeks or so after the last interview to release the final decision. If the interview was just a yes / no factor they could make the decision right after you submit your interview reflection.
So yes, most definitely prepare well, do mock interviews etc. - but don't go crazy about it! Good luck
Btw, this is based on internet research + current student and alumni info - but still just one opinion!
