Inconsistent Practice Test Results : Urgent, exam in two weeks [#permalink]
Hi Rich,

1. Yes. Including the AWA and IR, as highlighted in my answer.
2. Yes
3. Yes. Exactly at the time I have booked my slot.
4. No. Did not pause anywhere in between, took measured 8 mins breaks only.
5. No. On the V44 CAT, I did not get any known questions. On the first GMAT PREP (680 V33), however, I did see a known passage. But then, did not remember the passage well enough to answer the questions without going through the passage.

Hi rajarams,

Your first and third practice CAT scores are remarkably similar, while your second one is considerably higher. That second score was just 8 days after your first - and a 70 point score gain (at that level) in such a short period of time is surprising. As such, I have some questions about how you took these CATs:

1) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT each time (including the Essay and IR sections)?
2) Did you take them at home?
3) Did you take them at the same time of day as your Official GMAT?
4) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, skip sections, take longer breaks, etc.)?
5) Did you ever take a CAT more than once? Had you seen any of the questions BEFORE?

Hi rajarams,

To start, taking your CATs at home is NOT realistic, but If you've truly taken your CATs in all the other ways that 'match up' with what you'll face on Test Day, then we have to take a much greater look at WHY you're getting questions wrong. While the type of review that I'm talking about can (and should be) really detail-oriented, you can think in these simple terms:

After reviewing each of the Quant and Verbal sections in each of your CATs, how many questions did you get wrong....
1) Because of a silly/little mistake?
2) Because there was some math/verbal that you just couldn't remember how to do?
3) Because the question was too hard?

The answers to those questions will help to define what you should be focused on in these last 2 weeks.
