Hi,
Background - 28 years old, Married Indian Male, Graduate from NIFT, GPA 3.2, 6 year experience in design and creative field (fashion and retail).
My Gmat journey began in July 2015 when i seriously started studying for GMAT. Scored a 580 (Q45 V 25) on my first attempt in Oct 15th 2015.
After 1 year 3 days of rigorous studying i took Gmat yesterday i.e on 18th October and scored a 700 (Q48 V 38). Though i had scored 730 and a 740 in my previous GMAT prep exam 3 and exam 4 respectively, but in the latest gmat prep exams 5 and 6, i scored 700 in both of them, with the breakup of Q48 and V38 in gmat prep 6 exam being the same as the official gmat exam.
I can't express in words that how this journey of 580 to 700 took a physical, mental, social toll on me. I started from level ZERO, with no maths and a screwed verbal ability for the past 10 years (which includes my 4 years at NIFT , where studies have nothing to do with any sort of Math or Verbal). I got myself completely isolated from the world, no https://gmatclub.com/chat, no social interactions,no gaming (I am a diehard PC gamer, won a few tournaments too, hope i would have utilised that time in studying/reading good literature), even in office i used to avoid people and general discussions, whatever time i got, be it in office or at home, i only thought of and studied for GMAT and NOTHING else. My wife had been very patient and supportive with my studies, couldn't have reached 700 without her support. I am looking forward for ISB and IIM's for 1 year courses. Do you guys think it will be good enough? Should i retake?
PS: One question that i got in Quant completely surprised me as it was a question from
Manhattan CATs, the one with a rectangular metal sheet of width 6cm and height 10 cm to be made into a cylinder and answer options were with different volumes with the 6 and 10 as the circumference of the base of that cylinder (people who have taken 6
Manhattan CATS would know this question). I thought GMAC did not take any question from any other source.
