Calling all IESE MBA Applicants: (2017 Intake) Class of 2019!!

Thanks Robin. What they really want to understand is what kind of person you are and how would you fit into IESE.
The questions were pretty generic. The initial questions were on what I did professionally and my background etc.
Be very clear on what you have written in your application essays as most of my questions were framed on the incidents/content that I had mentioned in my essays.
Also have a clear idea on why you want to go to IESE and what has motivated you to choose IESE over other schools.

I received an interview invite on the Oct 19th.

Congratulations When is your interview scheduled for?

Waiting on the AO to respond to my application. Checked IESE's website, and the status is still on "submitted"

Just had a video interview
It was only for 45mins

They asked me to tell more about myself, what values I hold dear, what makes me special, why IESE, what are the backup options if my first career choice after graduation doesn't work out, how will I finance my education, sell myself to the admission committee in less a minute.

I don't know how I did, the last question makes me feel like I didn't do so well through the rest of the interview

We generally tend to think it more negatively than it would have been. Im sure you did well and all the best

Does anyone know generally how much time they take to respond to the application. I submitted on October 3rd. Since it is more than 3 weeks I have almost assumed that is rejected. But the status on embark portal is still Submitted. Can anyone shed some light? Also, what could be the dates till which they might send interview invites. Early decision announcement date is 25th NOvember.

I have not received invitation for assessment day yet. I hear it's usually sent out within a week of the interview.

Keep holding on
They are probably sending out invites as and when the application is processed which can be totally random , none of us can say anything for sure.
However there is still a month to go, so there's still a lot of time and a lot of hope

Hi Guys

I just thought I will share my experience with the school I have met Adcom yesterday .. I can't tell u how happy I was that I decided to apply to IESE

Just a brief background about me- I am a consultant who graduated in 2009 from IIT, with not one of the 700s GMATs ,with multiple attempts,

I worked over 7 years more than 2.5 years of living abroad in different countries and moved to C level executive roles pretty quickly

I have focused my application truly on what kind of person I am and why I think school is a fit for me... for me its not a tool its a journey so i highlighted that in each part of my communication... I was badly nervous as I screwed another adcom interview just before that.. but the best part about this institute is they understand that u are human in the end

So here is what I remember frm my interview-

It was for 1:15 hrs ( I met couple of people who have it for 2 hrs... )
Two people from adcom mostly usual question and deep dive into each.. tell me about yourself... why mba.. why now... wht post mba...practical aspects like funding and then detailed discussion on each... what they wish to understand is whether u are a fit to their school or not ...there is no set profile ... please don't try to mug up the facts ..they know how to get u in tht ..just be aware abt it..

I think wht I learnt frm my experience was be honest... know what u wish to do now and post mba ... whether achievable or not be realistic abt it..open abt it.. in case you wish to change your mind post mba... they will help you.. meet them if possible.. speak with an alumni... it helps trust me ..not for application for knowing the school ...and in the end if you can enjoy the conversation in your interview and you learn something about the other person, urself and school ..that's all interviews are for .... sorry for philosophy ... still emotional

Also please hold on .. for my other school I heard from them in the last week when it was just 5 days ... somebody in the thread told me not to loose hope when I was till my head in tension and nervousness .. it completely depend on your location and availability of adcom ..... only advise I will share for the one I was not so prepared from is please be a little more prepared with ur basic thoughts don't wait for your invite...at-least it didn't work for me in the other case

Hi! Just got my invite for IESE's assessment day a few minutes ago. I interviewed this Monday (Oct 24). I'll probably be doing my assessment within SG.

Anyone else going then?

What day is your assessment? I haven't heard yet, but if I do we will be in the same session!

Oh, I didn't realize that I forgot to add the assessment date. It'll be on Nov. 19 from 9:30am to 5:30pm.

Please update us when you get an email from IESE!
