Why it can't be (D)?
It's assumed (by "Club registration fee") that one should be a member to get in.

I dont think D is right .
The question stem tells us
"Club registration fee includes all books, refreshments at meetings, and admission to each signing event"
But this no where tells us that only club members will admitted to signing events.

The simple rule for must be true is it is necessary to distinguish between information that might orcould be true, and information that is presented in the passage.
The passage no where claims D to be true

how can we eliminate C ? i mean the primus says
refreshments at meetings, and admission to each signing event

this distinction clearly hints that regular meetings and sighing events are not same.

i mean if it were same the sentence should read admission and refreshments at signing events and other meetings.

I thought the answer was at C when I first looked at it, but now I see that the answer is clearly E.

Flyer: Appleseed Books is pleased to announce that our Summer Bookclub and Signing Series will feature six of the best new novels by local authors. Club registration fee includes all books, refreshments at meetings, and admission to each signing event.

Based on the information above, which of the following must be true?

Summer Bookclub will be popular among fans of local authors.
Most local authors write novels rather than poetry.
Book signings will not be held during regular meetings.
Only Bookclub members will be admitted to signing events.
It must be decided which new novels are the best.

E it is .
clue here is 'will feature six of the best new novels by local authors'

If the book club will feature only 6 of the best novels, this means some members of the club wil read all the novels written by local authors and have a say on what constitutes the top 6.

I have a question: How did you prepare for each section? and also, how did you not get a 51 on verbal when not missing any of the questions?

In my opinion, "six of the best new novels" in option E can also mean that six novels out of, for instance, the 12 best novels were chosen. In this case it is not necessary to identify the best 6, the bookclub can simply pick 6 out of those 12 randomly. However, if we interpret this part as there are only 6 best novels, then obviously it must be decided which ones are the best.

I agree the best novels part is ambiguous, which is why I did not choose E. It doesn't specifically mention novels by local authors.

Hi i see D is one of the favourite but it is wrong
D says only bookclub members are admitted.
We cannot say that for sure. We know if we pay the fee, we are sure to get admitted but it does not mean, non members cannot be admitted.
Non members can pay one time fee to get admitted. Therefore D is wrong.

E is right, because the fee includes featuring top 6 books, so they must have selected the books in order to say so

Re: Flyer: Appleseed Books is pleased to announce that our Summer Bookclub [#permalink]
A. Summer Bookclub will be popular among fans of local authors. - the passage does not contain any information that would support the claim laid out by (A).
B. Most local authors write novels rather than poetry.
- the passage does not contain information about ''what'' most of the local writers write about. Hence, (B) cannot be supported by the information contained in the passage.
C. Book signings will not be held during regular meetings. - all the passage mentions is that the fee charged by Appleseed Books includes all books, refreshments at meetings, and admission to each signing event. The passage does not mention anything about the ''sequence'' of these events.
D. Only Bookclub members will be admitted to signing events.
- the passage only mentions the benefit of paying a certain fee that would grant access to all books, refreshments at meetings, and admission to each signing event. This does not mean that only members will be admitted to signing events. It is still possible that customers buy tickets to individual events, based on their interests.
E. It must be decided which new novels are the best. - the entire argument is built on the fact that ''best novels by local authors'' will be featured in the Summer Bookclub and Signing Series events. If Appleseed Books is not able to decide which of the novels are the best of the lot, then their reasoning to encourage people to pay up the 3-in-1 inclusive fee will be rendered invalid. Hence, (E) is necessary for the argument to hold. Therefore, (E) is the right answer choice.

E. It must be decided which new novels are the best - doesn't this indicate that the best novels are yet to be decided?

What if the 6 novels were decided before the announcement? - In this case, option E is wrong.

Can someone please clarify?

Thanks in advance!
