Powerprep & Actual Test [#permalink] New post 03 May 2003, 16:58
What is the difference between Powerprep and Actual Test?

1. Is it on the difficulty level of the questions as one answers
correctly or wrongly that is adminstered by actual test, but not Powerprep?

Thanks.

I am afraid you will need to look through a number of post on this site. THere are three large discussions on this topic - sorry no time to look for all of them, but the summary is that PP is the most accurate way and the difference is usually within 30 points. Sometimes, due to worries, or other irregualr things, the results differe greatly.

Pattern and Algo is same ! [#permalink] New post 13 May 2003, 21:42
Actually, Powerprep algorithm is the same. Hence the way it selects newer questions is the same that one would encounter on the actual test. Therfore, for me, PP gives the best 'simulation'. You need to give it before you start the OG though (At least one test )

I thought I would try to convince somebody to do a favor for the humanity (Anupag, Tzec, anybody?): I had an idea to finally remove the mystery from the GMAT algorithm and I need some help with that. Basically, just take the test several times. If anybody is interested to help, I will appreiate a message. You need to have taken the PP tests already; otherwise it will be bad for you.

I hope to hear from you,
Bogdan.
