There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
Ok, I have been posting a lot recently. I hope my GMAT practise scores would be directly proportional to the number of posts(just kidding, bad joke ) So, I took my third MGMAT CAT today and scored a 590. I'm not happy but I'm relieved that there is some progress.Unfortunately, my individual section scores are not really steady. I need your suggestions/opinions on this.
The schools that I am targetting need a 620-650, apparently the mid-80% range has in increased to 640 from the earlier 600. I need to make sure that my scores stabilize to 650. Here is the break down:
MGMAT CAT 1 520 Q40,V21 --- got almost all RC wrong ----------22 jan MGMAT CAT 2 530 Q33,V31 ---I feel the Verbal score may be fluke, got many CR right ---29 Jan MGMAT CAT 3 590 Q44,V27 ---I guessed on 2 quant quest, RC accuracy is up, CR and SC are down--------8 feb
I would not worry about test scores at this point and continue to work work on fundamentals. Your quant is pretty good. I would work on SC as improving scores in SC is the the easiest.
Yes, my quant scores are ok. Frankly, I will be happy with a 40 too on the real test. But, I need a 35+ in the verbal part. I am using the MGMAT SC book, not reviewed it entirely though. Still in the Basic section. I need to do the Advanced part. May be once I review SC and CR a little more, I could take another test to see where I stand.
I have been working on CR recently just to make sure that I learn the basic' right answers' and 'wrong ones'. I have reviews 3 question types uptil now: Assumption, Strengthen, must be true Questions. After having completed the MGMAT CR guide and powerscore CR guide, I find that my accuracy has still not improved. I get about half the quest wrong. Could this be a case of an inverse relationship between my studying and accuracy? I'm really worried now because when I was not concentrating so much on CR strategies, I found that I performed the same,if not better .
