not sure if this is the appropriate sub-forum--but how about allowing users to submit negative kudos?

Better to give praise when something is worthy, and withhold it when it is not, than to punish someone for a comment. People may not post for fear of getting negative kudos; I see this as a bad thing.

In my experience, forums with negative kudos/reps often end up with grudges and other nonsense.

C'mon, shouldn't the people with shareholder status be able to vote to oust the CEO's if they are not performing to a level satisfaction commensurate with that office with which they were trusted?

Apparently not by the responses you've gotten so far.

Apparently not by the responses you've gotten so far. i didn't realize disagreement represented a lack of clarity of the proposal.

The original idea of kudos was to reward good contributions and help users identify those posts via the "best posts" feature. We will do whats best for the community. Just build some consensus and let me know what you guys prefer.
We have a "report post" feature. You are welcome to use that to let us know about posts that are offensive. I will deal with it. We get our clues on how to behave and act from the people around us. If we act like gentlemen and classy women having a polite conversation, there is no reason for negative kudos to exist. Let me dream. Tell me it is possible.
Also, to those of you who cannot support a member's idea or encourage an intelligent discussion, please don't post anything. It does not help anyone and it only encourages more non sense. If you don't want to listen, go ahead. Keep testing my patience and come up with new ways to frack with everything we have tried so hard to build. You know how that story will end.

I miss the ability to give bunches of kudos and to take them away.
