Sorry if this has been asked in the past but I couldn't find any similar threads. I decided to take the first GMATprep test to see where I stand before I undertake any study.

I got 660 (41Q and 40V - or vice versa?). I was rusty on the maths as it's been a few years but I feel like I could regain most of it pretty quickly with prepartion.

Anyway, with 2-3 months of studying 10 hours per week, what is the average improvement? Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but based on your experience (if you did a practice test prior to commencing preparation), how'd you go?

If you scored a 660 off the bat with no studying, you should be in great shape to get over 700. Many who take the GMATPrep immediately score in the low 600s and start to "freak out". This added urgency makes their studying in the next few weeks stronger and better and so they can reach the 700 mark. It looks like if you take on the same level of seriousness in preparing yourself mentally, you can break your upper limit. But it does require you to have strong stamina, accurately answer questions (a greater portion of difficult ones now) in order to get to where you want to be.
