Prediction on Weaken/Strengthen questions? [#permalink] New post 11 Dec 2012, 14:22
Hi everyone!

I'm trying my best to apply good strategies for each question type of the Verbal section, but I can never predict the answer on a strengthen/weaken questions.

How do you guys do...? I am actually following Kaplan strategies.

Thank you in advance!

Weird that no one replied on this one for long.

I'll write down my thoughts:

1.) You need to be very good at finding the conclusion - that is the easy part. The tough part is to tel your brain this is the conclusion within 5-10 sec of reading the ques.
Like in SC ques we remove all the modifiers to spot the SV pair, similarly your brain should be accustomed to remove all the premise filth and spot the conclusion.
This conclusion is the 'king'. You need to attack this. work on this. strengthen this or weaken this.

2.) Next, I'd say pre-think answers. Try searching for e-gmat's article on it and you will do good to go through it. Essentially, right after reading the question you need to pre-think (without reading the options) what the solution could be. Gets your brain to work and saves a lot of time.

3.) I've not gone through Kaplan, but if possible go through powerscore CR Bible.

4.) Practice tons of questions and you will improve. It is very linear with CR - the more you practice, the better you get.
