Preparation with OG [#permalink]
28 Aug 2010, 09:45
Hi, I have brought OG10 and I am working on it. I have a doubt regarding the content similarity in OG11 and OG12 with respect to OG10. As I am not in a good condition to buy all these three books. Please let me know who has the knowledge of all these three books that whether I need all three of them for my preparation or they have almost the same content. Your guidance will be helpful for me. P.S.: I am worried because OG10 was too costly for me.

It gives a comparison between the OG12 and OG11. http://www.manhattangmat.com/official-guide-12.cfmhth.

Previous members have scored very well with OG10. The main advantage of that book centers on the larger amount of questions it has compared to later editions. OG10, though, doesn't have as many hard questions. Do not purchase all three editions. In fact, you will probably be fine with just the OG10 and maybe the OG Verbal and OG Quant. If those two extra books are too expensive, look into an older edition. Along with the GMATPrep, that's enough OG question practice.

You only need one OG - not 3. What you need is also books that have basics on math and grammar, CR, etc - that's where the knowledge is, not in the OG's

Thanks for quick replies !! That's the thing I like about this forum, which I didn't found in any other GMAT forum. Kudos for all... What I concluded is this, I'll go with OG10.

zerotoinfinite... I don't know if you live in America or not but I've had alot of success finding quality reused books at Half Price Books. Last week I was able to find reused copies of... -Both OG Verbal and Quant -Both Kaplan Verbal and Math workbooks -MGMAT Prep SC book I was able to buy all five of those books for a total of $45 at Half Price Books. Good luck!

What I concluded is this, I'll go with OG10. That's a wise decision, but make sure you do not remember any answer as you will see some questions repeat on gmatprep test. So try not remembering any answer choice especially in Verbal, but do keep track of patterns and different approaches towards the answer choices.
