Procedure on test day

I have my gmat in a week. So wanted to be absolutely clear on things I need to be prepared other than the GMAT Questions of course.

Anybody answering the below question would be of great help.

1. Do we need to remember all the college codes that we will be applying to at the start of the test.

2. During the breaks do they call us if our time is up or do we need to keep track of the time

3. Can we carry snacks to the testing room?

4. Are there any details that need to be filled before the start of the test?

5. what is the efficient way of using the scratch pads provided, Do we need to keep wiping it once we fill it with scribbles or do they keep replacing them as we feel the need

Any other trivial stuff that I need to keep in mind?

If all these Qs are answered in this forum, pls direct me there or someone answering them here is highly appreciated.

No, they will have a search function to find your schools. Very easy...

There will be a clock on your test. They will not call you. You will raise your hand and click "Yes I want to take the break" and they will come get you.

No, you can not bring anything into the testing room with you. No drink, no snacks, no watch, no pens, no pencils, no nothing. Only what they give you (Pen and note pad)

No, nothing that you need to worry about.

The scratchpad is big. Big enough that you shouldn't have to replace it in the middle of a section. My advice is get a new one after each section (After AWA and after Quant) so that you have a fresh one to use. If for some reason you need a fresh one in the middle of the test you will have to raise your hand. It will waste your time, so I recommend that you try to not use it all. It's big though, with about 6-7 pages front and back and legal size (8.5x14).

Thank you for the little pieces of advice GMATLA. I want to know if the Scratch pad has either the normal lines or it is in boxes (like graphing paper). Thank you.

If I remember correctly it is a light yellow with light graph paper lines on it.

Thanks GMATLA for the clarifications. I have couple of additional Qs to your points below

Does this mean we cant have any snacks during breaks or is that different from taking snacks to testing room? I ask this because I read in other threads people suggesting various chocolates and energy drinks to take along for the test.

In case we almost end up filling the scratchpad can is it possible to wipe it and reuse it or it is not reusable at all?

Your personal belongings and snacks go into a locker. You get access to the locker during the breaks.

Don't try to wipe the write pad, it's messy (needs something wet to erase). You can get a 2nd one when you fill the first one up. I agree with getting a new one after each section.

1. Is the scratch pad provided same for all test centers or can vary from center to center? In other words, do I need to inquire my test center about the same or the information provided in this thread should be considered the same for all test centers.
By the way, I am writing my test at New Delhi(India) test center.
2. I know I am asking a stupid question. But just want to be sure. Am I allowed to carry water bottle in the test ?
