I have been working for 2 years at a top 20 consulting firm and was recently promoted. I have glowing recommendations from co-workers / clients / bosses. I have a 720 GMAT. I have strong connections (not family though) to a number of top 10 schools. I had a 2.8 GPA from a top 20 university. Thoughts on my potential to get into a top 10 business school?
Other considerations: - I am considering taking some classes at NYU to build an alternate transcript. - I am considering working abroad for a well respected non-profit for a year or two before going back to school. I want to do this for a number of reasons (not just to get into b-school), however I worry that if I go work for a non-profit, I won't be able to return to working in the private sector without going to b-school.
Any advice is helpful. Target schools are (I realize I have set the bar high here):
