Hello,

Your low GPA is definitely going to be a challenge. The only thing you can do now, other than have strong standardized test scores (which you already have), is to try to build an "alternate transcript" of stats/accounting courses at a local college, and earn As in all of them. The top schools tend to be very harsh on applicants who have sub-3.0 GPAs, but it is what it is, so all you can do is focus on the stuff you can still change going forward.

Interesting that you're thinking about a JD/MBA. If you haven't already, take a look at this series on our blog:

Good luck!

Thanks Scott.

I guess I'm wondering do I have a shot at these schools? And is it a long shot that these schools seriously consider me?

I do think it will be a little bit of a long shot for you, but that doesn't meant you shouldn't take a shot. Remember that all of these schools have acceptance rates at or below 25% (and in some cases way below that). With the right application, you can give yourself a strong enough chance that it's worth a shot.

BTW, we have a few really good JD/MBA experts in house, if you're looking for more assistance!
