Hello manisjce, thanks for your question.

You’ve done your homework, and you cite the comparatively low international acceptance rates. You also come from an overrepresented demographic that typically scores high on the GMAT and has high GPAs, so these strengths in your profile would not move the needle as much as they would otherwise.

Given this, your leadership experience – both in and out of work – is where you can look to differentiate yourself from the pack. Can you speak to experiences where you have truly led, driven results, and shown initiative? You will need to draw upon these “moments” when writing your essays to demonstrate your leadership potential. For instance, when you refer to “managing 1,000 resources for a client,” do you mean human resources? That could be a unique experience to write about.

Your college activities will likely not weigh too heavily. What kind of shop do you own with your father? To move the needle, you should demonstrate the scope and performance of the business and clearly show your role in it. Some candidates start businesses specifically for the purpose of including it in business school applications. If you can illustrate that you have a leadership role in a legitimate and successful business, this could move the needle for you. Do you have any other extracurricular activities?

Moreover, to the degree that you can show a career arc that cohesively ties together your past, present, and future, the more compelling a story you can tell to the admissions committees.

I hesitate to give definitive predictions without knowing the details of your experiences. I think Kellogg is a reach unless you can truly differentiate yourself.

I’m happy to comment further with additional information.

Best of luck!
Brian
