Just wanted to know how well is my profile suited to get into a good B-schools for an MBA in USA. I am mostly inquisitive about my work exp in public sector, weak under grad etc.. how does that fare?
1.What can I do to make my profile stronger ? (take additional courses in local univ? etc…?)
2.How to justify my bad under grad?
With this profile what range of scores should I shoot for in GMAT to get into very good B-Schools?
For the top MBA programs, you will need to describe the business goals of your organizations and how you helped achieve them: what people did you collaborate with, what influence did you need to exert, strategic insight did you share, and what were the impacts of your efforts - these are the questions that the admissions committees have. To boost your profile, don't get caught up in the IT of your role but rather the business and public benefit details. Your undergrad GPA is less of an issue because of your MS, and it can be even less of an issue if you score above a 720 on the GMAT. If you don't have a good reason for your poor undergraduate GPA, then there is no way to "justify" it, but if you were ill or something, certainly you should mention that in an optional essay. Also, consider some programs outside of the top 10 with strong recruiting in IT consulting like Emory, Vanderbilt, Purdue, Penn State, Michigan State, and Ohio State.
