Being the first in the family to graduate from college is certainly a minor plus, but not a huge plus that it will make or break your application (it matters more for undergrad admissions).
In your case, what you need to do is to apply to more schools.
Most MBA students get into 1-3 schools. And to yield that number, most will apply to 4-6 schools (sometimes even more, although I think 6 is enough). It's a numbers game since the admissions process can be a crapshoot, so by limiting yourself to 2 schools, there's a better chance that you won't get into any school versus if you applied to more schools.
Not sure what your goals are, but look at some schools like NYU, Cornell, Yale, Duke, Darden, Michigan, Haas, UCLA (choose 2-3), and maybe one school outside the top 16 (Tepper, Georgetown, UNC, USC, etc.). That way, you're covered.
