Hi there,
Thanks for sharing your background. I think it's worth taking a step back tobe sure about what you want out of your MBA experience. In a 1-year program, you'll miss out on some opportunities that traditional students in the FT program will get depending on where you go. If you're set on going into consulting, it's going to be tough to start out in a focused industry as many MBA grads are hired as generalists and then specialize over time. Further, it's even harder to expect to be able to change functions - these take time and the opportunity has to be right. If you're keen on being industry focused, you actually have the experience and credentials now to work as a consultant in finance. For strategy, however, I think an MBA makes sense and a 2-year program at that. I think you have a profile that fits well for a top 11-20 program, but the devil is in the details. What do you feel sets you apart? What does your involvement or community service profile look like? Leadership in these areas are what AdComms will want to see from you, especially given you level of work experience.
Hi Critical Square,
Thank you very much for the valuable input.
I will take your advice and have another think about my career goal so that I can position myself better in the application.
