Hello,
I have 2 years of WE in a middle size corporate law firm and I am planning on moving back to the Ann Arbor/Detroit area. Umich PT would realistically be the only program that I would consider.
I have a 3.1-3.2 gpa from Umich
I'm not sure if my law school grades matter, but I am in the top 15-25% at a top 25 law school.
I took the GMATs twice. 1. ~600 2. ~650.
I have a couple of questions:
Do I have a decent chance at Umich PT MBA?
Do my grades from law school matter?
Does being a lawyer hurt or help my chances of getting in?
Do I have enough work experience? Should I wait a couple more years?
Thanks in advance!
Your GMAT score is only slightly lower than the Ross PT program's average, so it is most likely fine. Yes, your undergrad and law school grades will be averaged to arrive at one GPA to "represent" your academic ability. If you are contributing to interesting legal cases in your work, then your law experience will be an asset to your application and class discussions. There's no downside to applying, so I definitely recommend you do so early; you can always
reapply without any negative repercussions if this year does not work out.
