Could you, please, evaluate my profile.

Age: 27
Gender: Male Ukrainian

GMAT: 650 (Q50/28) AWA 3.5

Education:
MSc. in Applied mathematics (finished 2008)
MSc. in Finance (finished 2009)

GPA:
Applied mathematics: 3.3
Finance: 3.1

Work-Experience:
Total 5.5 years at risk-management teams of Top Ukrainian’s banks. Developing score cards and other credit risk models. I work as a heard of decision science team (5 person) in a credit-risk department for the last 1,5 years ;

Extracurricular:
• Strong interest in using math. models in business environment;
• Strong programming skills (SAS, SQL). Has SAS base programmer certificate (2010).


I am looking for business school with decision-science or risk-management programs.

Questions:
1. AWA 3.5 is appropriate for business school?
2. What schools I should apply? Do I have a chance to be admitted?

What kinds of jobs are you looking for after b-school? Where do you hope to live (country, region, city, etc) after b-school? That will dictate what schools you should apply to.

Thank you for your reply.
I want to work in American’s bank ( in credit risks or fraud prevention teams) for several years after finishing business school.
The region is not important because I want to come back to Ukraine after working for several years in the United States.

First, you really should retake your GMAT. With your current score, you'll have a tough time getting into top 30 schools. Shoot for at least a 680, and ideally a 700+ to be safe. With a 680+ and your interest in finance, you may want to look at Georgetown and Rochester as your target schools. NYU, Cornell and Yale will be stretches - but schools that have strong finance recruiting.
