Profile Evaluation [#permalink] New post 05 May 2012, 15:53
Hello,

I'm looking to get feedback on my profile. I'm considering applying this fall (round 1) and I'd be focusing on finance-heavy programs. My target schools are Stern, London Business School, and Columbia. I'd definitely look at Booth and Wharton as well if those are realistic options for me.

- Age 24 (25 at matriculation), White/Male/American
- 730 GMAT Score (Q46, V45)
- 3.1 Undergrad GPA in Computer Science, started college full-time at 13 years old
- 6 years total post-college work experience (7 at matriculation)

I currently work as an analyst in the interest rate derivative group at an advisory firm. In addition to doing financial analyst work I've also built a couple web applications that are in daily use. Prior to that I was a partner in a small (read: myself and another guy) web development/graphic design firm.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts you may have.

Hi lottohedgefund,

You have a very interesting candidacy (particularly given you began college at age 13).

Your numbers indicate that you have the intellect and focus to thrive in a top tier MBA program. Nothing about your story makes me think there is any reason why you cannot be admitted, but nothing stands out telling me why you should be admitted. All of the reasons why a top program would admit you are in the details of your work experience, personal experiences, personality, values and overall story.

Here is some school specific advice for the programs you are considering:

Stern: http://www.stacyblackman.com/business-s ... nyu-stern/
Columbia: http://www.stacyblackman.com/business-s ... ss-school/
LBS: http://www.stacyblackman.com/business-s ... ess-school
