Hi,
I gave my GMAT yesterday and scored a disappointing 680(q47, v 37).
I need suggestions for colleges to apply to and would be very grateful for your honest replies.
Background: Marine Engineer, from top Indian University, BITS Pilani. CGPA: 9.4/10
Work Ex: 3.5 years now. Working with a great company involved in Risk Management and Certification and classification of Ships.
I want to enroll in a Operations/Logistics/Shipping kind of an MBA.
My ideal colleges would be: INSEAD, HKUST, ISB, NUS and NTU in that order.
Can anyone suggest what are my realistic chances with my score and bacground. I am aware that application, reference, essays etc play a very important part, but i want to know whether my score itself doesnt give me a disadvantage even before i begin my application to these universities.

The good news is, you have a unique work experience which will help you stand out from a deep pool of applicants from India. The bad news is yes, you GMAT will likely appear below average for this group, but don't lose sight that it's a great GMAT score. a 680 demonstrates that you have the fortitude to handle b-school academics and when coupled with your outstanding UG marks, it is not as "disappointing" as you may be thinking. how you cast your vision for your career and talk about your experience in the essays will be critical. Let us know if we can help you bring out your best.
