- I work for major insurance company and have bounced around in several departments as part of a finance rotational program (mostly financial reporting/analysis work). 5 years of experience with 5 different teams. I am an associate manager with no direct reports or teams that I lead.
- GMAT 750
- College info: Seton Hall University, 3.5, Finance major/Econ minor, 2007
- Leadership experience is admittedly lacking, I served as a math tutor to an inner-city middle school student for about an hour and a half a week during the school year for the past 2 years and will continue to do so, have participated in many work related volunteer activities, trips to soup kitchens, food banks, nature conservancies, and also took a trip last year to Ghana for a week of what I call voluntourism (helped on project of building school)
- I am a CFA charterholder
- My target schools would be Harvard, Wharton, Cornell, Yale, Tuck (I don't want to quit my job for a school outside of the top tier (top 15 or 20)
- My post MBA goal is that I want to be a leader (executive) in the financial services industry

Hi Dbalks,

Congratulations on your excellent GMAT score. Your numbers indicate that you have the intellect and focus to thrive in a top tier MBA program. Nothing about your story makes me think there is any reason why you cannot be admitted, but nothing stands out telling me why you should be admitted. All of the reasons why a top program would admit you are in the details of your work experience, personal experiences, personality, values and overall story.

The largest challenge you will face is your limited leadership experience. MBA programs are looking to cultivate future leaders, so this is an important part of your application.
