Hello,

I was hoping that you could evaluate my profile and help me find my space.

GMAT: 640
UG GPA: 2.0/4.0 (my biggest negative)
Major: Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

Extra-curricular: Event management (have done events as big as $200,000), Captain of the Company Cricket team, Editor of the company newsletter, Joint Secretary of the University Dance Club, Winner of various dance competitions during and after UG.

Work-ex: 3 years (~4 years next fall). Started my career with a British Insurance company that is fully owned by a German Insurance company(2.5 years there). Currently working for a start-up and hope to continue here until fall 2013 (assuming I get into a B-School). My experience is mostly in IT. Have done some General Insurance ceritification courses as well.
Was the team lead-by-role for a team of 3 (something that is very unusual for an employee of 2 years work-ex). Headed 2 projects in this capacity.

Post MBA aspirations: Technology (non-IT), Technology consulting

Which colleges do u think I should apply to?? I am currently looking at Manchester Business School, UK, Mannheim Business School, Germany, Singapore Management Uni, NTU, ISB.

Best,
Hari

Hari I am not quite as well versed on those schools, so I can only comment on your overall profile, which in the US would be considered risky mostly based on your undergrad performance. Coupled with a relatively average GMAT (for b-school applicants), yours will be an uphil challenge to convince them you have what it takes to handle the academics in b-school. You can help this status by perhaps taking an extra class or two now and posting a good grade. Also, you can highight any quantitative analysis that you are required to do in your current role. beyond that, the adcoms will likely have lots of applicants to choose from who have a similar or more substantial career record and a better academic record.
