Demographic: 30 yr old male / US Citizen

Background:
4 years at IBM (2 promotions in 4 years)
4 years in family business in India

GMAT:
670 - 48/34
IR - 4
AWA - 6.0

Target schools:
INSEAD
Wharton-Lauder
ISB
Booth
Fuqua
Mccombs

ST Goals: Strategic leader in a global company, which will enhance my current experience coupled with skills/exposure from MBA.

LT Goals: Entrepreneurship

Extra Activities: Listed in the resume

The questions are:
1. Is a GMAT retake required? Verbal & IR scores?

2. If the GMAT score is as shown, does this require me to write the additional essay and justify this score ?

GPA not listed in previous post: 3.71 @ UT Austin.

Although your work experience, undergrad grades, and extras are impressive, the schools you are aiming for with the exception of McCombs and possibly Fuqua and INSEAD are stretches. If you want to have a competitive profile for ISB, Booth, and Wharton-Lauder, you need to raise your GMAT. Have you considered a retake?
