Profile Evaluation [#permalink]
25 Feb 2013, 10:46
[header3]Hello, I can't remember my exact % right now and will post them later. However, let’s just say my GMAT was very bad...under 500. I do remember I got a 5.5/6 AWA; wish I got a high grade in something of more importance on the exam. Stats:
Male 21 Polish/Irish NY State School GPA:3.3 (Got a 4.0 last semester) Work Experience: 4 years in sales/ 4 years in operations I have always had a job since I was 12, one being an employee for my father’s business, another being working at a sports facility, and another involving sales/management/inventory. I also worked at a bar but don’t really think that is relevant for a B-school application. I am currently interning at a large marketing agency and have already developed an amazing rapport with the staff. Extra-Curricular: Football/Track & Field for a few seasons Light volunteer work President of the Marketing Club I feel that I probably don’t have a shot of getting into any B-schools due to my low exam scores. However, I do think that aside from that, my profile is what some application committees would like to see. I plan on applying to: University at Buffalo *Baruch *St.Johns Hofstra Stony Brook University
Thank you in advance. Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Agree with Jon. You must write your GMAT again and then target b-schools. You can try your chances in b-schools by clicking http://www.general-ed.com/chances-of-bschoolCheers!! Thanks for the responses. I would like to take the test again but do I still have time? I would like to not take a break from my undergrad to masters and begin a program in the upcoming fall semester.
Thanks.

Well, you do know that the majority of Bschool shave a very strong preference for at least 2-3 years work experience? With a 500 GMAT and no work experience, you would not get in anywhere worthwhile, so I'd reconsider that.

I will have some work experience through my internship at a marketing agency. Still, there must be people out there who go straight to B-School after their undergrad, right?

Into MBA programs? Not really... And not really to any programs that will be worth the amount of money you are required to shell out. What are your goals? There may be other, preferable paths for you to take.
