I have done Bachelors of engineering in mechanical but I got job in production management of apparels in one of the top exports house of India. Currently I am management trainee-production in the organisation. Will this effect my profile during application to B-schools???

Hi there,

I'm not 100% sure I understand your question, apologies... you're concerned about working in a different area or industry from your degree, or about being a trainee currently?? Perhaps with some additional info I can provide more feedback, but generally neither should be a major issue... just keep in mind that business schools are looking for a diverse group of students in the class with different experiences and skills who can contribute to classroom discussions and have demonstrated strong leadership and teamwork skills.

That shouldn't be a problem and is actually fairly common. You'd just want to explain your career choices and progression and rationales, in your application and any potential interviews, as well as what your expected future progression is and why the MBA. ;)
