Hi,
I am based out of Mumbai, India and am looking to get my profile evaluated to find out if I should apply for MBA (Strategy) next year or wait for a couple of more years.
Brief profile
Work experience: I am working with one of the top MNC banks as an Equity research associate since April this year covering Indian equities.
Before that, I have worked with the Asia debt origination and capital structure team of another MNC bank based out of Mumbai for 10 months.
As part of my academic curriculum, I have also completed 2 years of internship training covering different profiles in audit, taxation and 1 year in merchant banking with a boutique investment bank.
Academics: I am a qualified Chartered accountant (India) and have secured All India Rank at all three levels of the course. I have achieved Rank 9 in the final examination (Level 3), Rank 5 in PCC (Level 2), Rank 6 in CPT (Level 1) out of an average 0.15mn students for each exam.
I have cleared CFA level 2 and intend to write Level 3 coming June.
I have completed my undergraduation from one of the top ranked colleges in Mumbai and secured rank 5 in college.
Questions:
1) Considering my current work experience (2 years post qualification + 3 years pre qualification) and academic profile, would you suggest that I should apply for MBA next year?
2) Would 3 years of internship as part of my academic curriculum for Chartered Accountant course be taken into consideration for evaluating my application?
3) Would it make more sense for me to work in a Private Equity firm on the Investment side till I apply for MBA?
4) What else should I do to enhance my profile?
Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Looking forward to hearing from you.
