Hello

This is Himanshu, I am an engineering graduate (mechanical) with 4 years of work experience , currently working with L&T as sr. design engineer .

the problem is i have done my engineering in 6 years so what are chances of my application being accepted in case my score is 700+.

Should i try for GMAT or it is of no use for me??? Question in short is - What part do academics play in ur application ?

Hi Himanshu,

Academics play a very important part in your business school application. Business schools have a very challenging academic curriculum. Candidates with a strong academic background show that they can withstand the academic rigours of business school curriculum. Having backlogs in your transcript is a drawback, but if your overall GPA is good and you have a high GMAT score, then you can certainly explain the reasons for completing your degree in 6 years. You need to have a very strong application otherwise, in terms of leadership experience, extra-curriculars and post-mba goals to have a good chance at top business schools.

You can download the free e-book on how to get into a top business school at : http://www.interviewbay.com/mba/how-to- ... -ebook.php

Good Luck!
