Hi there,

Thanks for your post.

Overall I would say, based on the info here, that your strengths are:

-working for reputable company like Accenture
-710 GMAT
-sounds like solid academics
-variety of extracurriculars, including continuing now at Accenture
-some volunteering experience
-yes CFA is a small plus if you complete

Potential weaknesses or challenges:
-Fewer than average years of work experience, but since you plan to work another year before even applying that will be mostly rectified
-currently goals could be further developed (i.e. be sure to dig deeper when putting your essays together/prepping for your interviews)
-still somewhat from a large applicant pool—Indian IT applicants; be sure to showcase skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication skills, working with others, etc to show more dimension to your profile
-small potential questions could be raised about changing positions twice within a couple of years if you plan to change again soon…. Doesn’t mean that can’t be overcome with a good explanation, but be prepared

Unknowns:
-essays/recommendations/interviews

It’s good that you are thinking ahead, so be sure to start prepping for your essays in spring/summer of 2014, just taking some time to brainstorm occasionally when you get a chance for a few months, and save plenty of time to complete multiple drafts and edit and proofread etc. Let us know what other q’s you have, and good luck!

Hey Thanks a lot!

So I get your point about switching twice in 2 years.

Just one more thing , so suppose if I choose to work under a stockbroker or somewhere in a finance firm now and apply in late 2014 for fall 2015 gathering say 10 months of WE there before applying.. Will that make exclude me from the IT pool?

Also, will you be able to name a couple of schools which lie really into safe category(very likely to get an admit from) on my current profile.
Its not too much to ask for! :P

P.S - Really helpful analysis.

Thanks,
Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year in advance! :)

Thanks for the seasons greetings and happy new year to you too! ;)

Yes to a certain degree, that experience would help differentiate you from the IT group. Overall I think you have a solid profile; I think you'd have a fairly good shot at programs outside the top 10-15, including Ross. The rest on your orig list will not be easy, but not impossible either. Stanford is particularly challenging though, given it's smaller class size, selectivity, and average GMAT, just keep that in mind. Happy New year!
