Expert's post

Thanks for your message. It sounds like you have a wide range of experience and interests. If you’re set on applying this year, I would recommend targeting schools with Peace Corps fellowships. When applying to these programs it will be easier to explain your non-traditional background in a way that they are receptive to.

Because you don’t have formal work experience, and your scores are below the average for your target schools, I think that your odds in applying for these programs would increase significantly with some additional work experience that would position you for an MBA and eventual consulting career.

As you’re considering your application overall, you will need to draw out leadership and management experiences that you got from your time in the Peace Corps as well as in your internships. It sounds like you have a very solid vision for your short and long-term goals, which is great. If you can make that vision come across clearly and powerfully in your application and then draw out any examples of relevant business/general management experience that you’ve had which will put you on the path towards achieving those goals, you will definitely improve your chances across these schools.

If you find my response/post useful then please give it kudos!
