First of all, I would like to thank you for providing this profile evaluation. It's so helpful!
Please help evaluate my chance to get into B-school. I really appreciate every comments.
Target school: HBS, Wharton, MIT, Chicago, and Columbia
Age: 28
TOEFL: 108
GMAT : 720
GPA: 3.14
Education background: Engineering from top local university / study CFA by myself since graduated, and passed level 3 in 2.5 years afterwards.
WE: Operation risk management in local banking group for 2 yrs;
after passed CFA level 2, I moved to work in boutique investment bank for 3 years, promoted to manager last year.
Recommendation: should be pretty strong. One from my current direct supervisor and another from CEO of my firm (my boss's boss), who is one of Wharton's active alumni. (I have been working closely with both of them.)
Extra-curricular: (Mostly, for giving back to CFA instiute as it helped me getting the job in finance field.)
- Volunteering to educational program by organizing research competition among teams of university students in order to select the best team representing my country to compete with other teams globally. (The program is endorsed by CFA Institute);
Currently, I served as chairperson of the program, responsible for managing the team of volunteers, raising fund from corporate sponsorship, and liaising with university professors and students.
- Serving as Board of Director of local CFA society. (over 400 members of CFA charterholders)
I would like get into top U in the U.S.; HBS seems to be stretch for me due to my low GPA, and little international exposure. Other choices are Wharton, MIT, Chicago, and Columbia, respectively.
Please comment on my profile, and advise what should be improved or mentioned in my essay. I am in the process of writing essay and planning to submit at 1st round of this year.
Thank you in advance!
