Profile Evaluation - Atypical Applicant [#permalink] New post 30 Sep 2012, 20:10
Profile Evaluation-GMAT 680 work ex: 11 years post-UG

GMAT Score: 680 (will retake)
GPA: 2.5 (upward trend, had to get my act together at age 19, will likely get a semester of F's dropped retroactively)

USA, Male, 33 years

Work Experience:
- Successfully started and ran a business with $350K+ in annual revenues.
- 10 years of progressively-responsible management experience in Energy & Healthcare sectors
- Currently oversee a team of 200+ and serve as primary advisor to CEO of $50 Billion enterprise

Other factors:
- Mandarin Fluency
- Married Gay Male
- Native American (working on getting the tribal card, but will I even need it?)

I want to do an executive MBA.

Do I have a strong shot at UT/A&M/Rice?

I think you have a really strong shot. EMBA programs tend to be less competitive, so your GMAT is actually going to be helpful. They also care way less about GPA since it's been so long since you've gotten your undergrad degree. Your work experience seems solid and you have a unique profile. They're going to really like you!
