You have a lot going for you in your profile including good academic credentials, good GMAT score, international expereince and solid WE. Not sure what your nationality is, but if you hail from an underrepresented country, that could help as well, as b-schools always like to diversify their student bodies.

I like how your short and long term plan leverages your past experience--you seem to have a mature vision which will resonate well with the adcoms. One thing that could be a challenge is your working for your father's company. Make sure you don't use any family members to write your recos and try to demonstrate acheivement and accomplishements which were clearly earned and not given from favoritism (or could be misconstrued as favorititsm).

in short, you should have a good shot at your target schools. As far as what to do between now and then, I would focus on my applications, as it is critical to have a very well vetted and personal story woven together in a compelling narrative for the adcoms. Let us know if we can help.

Being Canadian will definitley not be as challenging as being Indian as an applicant. There are literally thousands more applicants from India vs. Canada each year, so I would say outside of Canada, you likely will be an underrepresented minority. It wouldn't hurt to identify in your essays the rank or reputation of the program you attended. B-schools may already know, but it would not be worth the risk, since yes, you should score points for going to a top program. They do take it into consideration, and it would be very easy for you to subtley identify the program as a topper.

No I meant as a Canadian, if you go to school anywhere outside Canada you will be favorably considered as a diversity applicant. As for grades, they should have the GPA conversion down to a science at the top schools, so you shouldn't have to worry about them getting it wrong.

If they allow it, why would you not just do both? The description and the reco?
