Profile Evaluation for HBS 2+2 [#permalink] New post 23 May 2012, 06:44
Hello Sir/Ma'am...i would be obliged if you could help with my profile evaluation.

I wanted some advice on my profile and my chances to these big b schools as I plan to apply to HBS 2+2, IESE-YTP and maybe Stanford GBS with a 2 year deferral option....I recently applied to ISB-YLP program and have

I am hopeful that my final year project (topic:Solar Cell-increasing productivity) will get published in one of the national journals... or most probably IEEE.

Do I stand a chance among the other applicants who have a stellar profile and excellent graduation GPA!!

Thanks for your valuable time addressing my query..!

Here's the thing.

HBS 2+2 is looking to scoop up folks in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) -- and they will *never* say this out loud, but specially anywhere but India (because every b-school can count on having a ton of Indian engineering types applying). In other words, they're looking to diversify their incoming class with people who normally wouldn't be going to b-school at all (again, unlike Indian engineers, a lot of the STEM type folks in the US and Europe traditionally don't consider business school at all).

As such, I don't see you having much of a shot to be honest. Because they know that folks in your demographic (Indian engineers) will be applying in droves regardless. So give it a try, but just know that it'll be a long shot.
