2 questions: what are my chances? What are my weaknesses? I’d be grateful for any tips.
Programs: HBS 2+2, Stanford application as college senior – option to defer
My Profile:
I got admitted last year to HEC Paris for Master in Management, and even received a big scholarship from them. However, I decided that it is better to gain more experience and go straight to MBA. Currently I’m finishing my bachelor – waiting for bachelor exam.
22/Male/from Eastern Europe
GMAT: 760
Attending most selective business school in my Country
GPA: 4.51/5.5 (top 10%), finished all subjects semester earlier (received grade based scholarships for 3 out of 5 terms)
Own project: besides a normal job, I lead a group of students from different fields (computer science, finance, law) and we are working on implementing first equity-based crowdfunding platform in my country. In 2/3 months we are going to set up a legal business and start operating. We hope to receive funds to develop more rapidly, cause we know some investors/people from investment funds in my country.
Most important professional experience (starting with most recent):
Berlin, 10.2012 – till now
Country Analyst In the largest online fashion store in Europe with a ca. 500 mn EUR revenue in 2011. In September 2012 it entered my country and I was hired as the first Country Analyst with the objective to be the “value driver”. Key tasks:
-monitoring performance of the company in the country (sales, finance and operating KPIs)
-analyzing changes, structuring ongoing problems and isolating their causes; finding ways to improve sales
-initiating and coordinating responsive actions to improve results of the company

Intern with lead on Internationalization in a venture-backed provider of consumer loans. Hamburg. Key tasks:
-coordinating the company’s expansion to new markets and managing a team of three employees of the department
-maintaining contact with lawyers, data providers and other business partners in four countries

PricewaterhouseCoopers, Warsaw, 5 months
Intern, Capital Markets Group
-performing valuations of companies (DCF, multiples) and options
Mercer, Warsaw, 7 months
Junior Analyst
-the only member from my country of a multinational team, which included people from Singapore, Australia and India
Student Consulting Company, Warsaw, 5 months
Business Consultant (promoted after successful period as Junior Consultant)
-taking part in several business projects and attending meetings with clients

Most important extracurricular activities:
- Member of Boston Consulting Group ‘Star League’
mentorship program gathering high-potential students from the best universities in my country
-Participant of conferences abroad and in my country:
I gave speech on one conference about the creation of synthetic life and its impact on business in the future.
- Organizer of cultural events in hometown (e.g. I organized an event in my hometown for a beginning of the summer and got support from local authorities. My event was then promoted as an official local event and I was even offered a job as an organizer of events.)
- Founder of an amateur football club
Career goal: To have an own online business.

Thing are looking pretty good. You are a very involved person, with good internships and experience, a great GMAT. The one thing that could be better is your GPA. It may be top 10%, but this is HBS 2+2, so you are going up against folks who are Top 1% in the best schools in their country. There are other things that matter too of course, but having super excellent grades helps a lot.

Besides your "excellent all over" profile, there is one very unique thing about you and that is your crowdfunding platform. Now I know its too early maybe for you to have concrete results, but still if you can make this seem BIG, it can help you seem big.
