Would really appreciate it if I could get a profile eval for INSEAD and IE. Also, if you could recommend other top b-schools (US-based and abroad) that would be very helpful.

Background: U.S. Citizen, Indian ethnicity, Female, age 25, 5 years of work experience

Undergrad: McGill (top 2 in Canada), 3.4 GPA, International Business, Strategic Management

Languages: English, Hindi, Intermediate French

Exams: Took GRE and got 90 percentile Quant, 95 percentile Verbal (converted to GMAT: 730)

Work experience:
1. Strategic marketing at India-based pharma company. Traveled to India frequently and interacted with many Indian colleagues. This is a point of concern for me as, though I am of Indian ethnicity, consider myself American and international experience of working with Indian nationals was novel to me.
2. [CURRENT] Co-founder of startup whose team is geographically remote (Taiwan, Argentina, India)

Extra-curriculars:
1. Informal mentoring
2. Help with mom's business
3. Market research consulting for startups (pro bono and paid)

What are my chances at INSEAD and IE? Also, any other top programs I should consider?

Kudos.. your profile looks great.

You should stand a 75%+ chance of getting into Insead / IE.

Age and work exp: In line
Acads: Institute and GPA: Decent
GMAT: Very good score

And - please don't take this the wrong way - you are a woman, so you get a few extra points on that account as well.
So, overall, should be a compelling application.

In your interview, you will have to explain why you are leaving a startup at this stage.
So, think about it and have a good answer.

Good luck and kudos.

Hello there, Gaia,

Your profile looks very solid. Great GREs, good grades, and you come from one of the best Canadian universities. So you are off to a good start. The pharma industry is also a very good one to be in right now, and I think that also will strengthen your profile. You actual chances will depend upon your work experience, as well as the strength of your extra stuff.

Most important will be the potential of your startup and what goals you present to the Adcom, and if you can tell us a bit more about that here, I can further advise you. Also, there are plenty more great schools out there, but it depends on what you are looking for. Are you interested only in Europe? Or elsewhere as well???
